I’ve been painting commissioned portraits of animals - dogs mostly-in oil paint for 20 years. I’ve painted some of Hollywoods most famous mutts - including commissioned pieces for Adam Sandler, Rob Thomas, The Kroenke Family and Tony LaRussa, to name a few. But what I am known for is the the ability to capture the essence of an animal on canvas.
While I still paint commissioned animal portraits, I am delving into other mediums like linoleum cuts, drawings, photography and everything in between.
My animal paintings here were commissions, painted in oil on canvas, with an average size of 16 x 20, and are available for purchase as high quality prints on paper, metal, wood or reproduced on canvas. I also do commissioned pieces for home and office. Please feel free to email me with any questions.
Bio:
I grew up in St. Louis, MO and from an early age had a passion for art. While still in high school, I attended Parsons School of Design in New York City, Paris and Les Eyzies, France. I spent two years at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago before earning my BFA degree from Tufts University/ The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in 1992.
I moved to California and spent the next decade working in the film industry with jobs ranging from storyboard artist to associate producer for commercials, music videos, feature films and TV, to jobs as Executive Assistant to John Wells, Goldie Hawn, Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson.
I also worked as a freelance writer during this time for print and online magazines and newspapers. I was the Editor-in-Chief of an on-line magazine, wrote a book, made short films and did as much art as time permitted. In 2001, I left all things entertainment industry related and returned to my love of art and began painting pet portraits full time.
